On August 16, 2025, Striving For All proudly celebrated a major milestone at the Summer Session Closing Ceremony, hosted at our valued partner school, Lycée Bilingue de New-Bell in Douala, Cameroon. The event brought together students, families, partners, and community leaders in a true spirit of celebration, honoring the achievements of our youth and the growing impact of the SFA Youth Development Program.
Building Skills for the Future
After two months of intensive training at our Thrive Center in Douala, 103 youth earned certificates in Web Development, Python, Microsoft Office, English, and Data Analysis. Alongside these technical skills, they also developed transversal skills in career development, environmental awareness, and leadership. This holistic approach equips students not only with practical expertise but also with the mindset to become engaged, responsible leaders in their communities.
In addition, 13 students from the previous session were recognized with Technovation certificates for their innovative projects addressing real-world challenges.
Girls in Tech: Breaking Barriers
We are especially proud of the young women in our Girls in Tech program, who advanced to the semi-finals of the global Technovation competition — the first time ever that girls in Cameroon have reached this stage. At the ceremony, they were celebrated for their groundbreaking projects and awarded official certificates, inspiring many more girls to pursue opportunities in technology and innovation.
Recognizing Excellence
The celebration also honored our interns, who received Certificates of Excellence for their dedication and achievements throughout the program.
Top-performing students were awarded backpacks and school supply vouchers, providing encouragement and practical support as they continue their learning journey.
The presence of more than 30 parents added a warm, family dimension to the event, highlighting the essential role of families in empowering youth.
Partners and Community Support
The ceremony was enriched by inspiring remarks from our partners and special guests. We were honored by the leadership of Mrs. Marie Laure Omongo, whose vision made this collaboration possible at Lycée Bilingue de New-Bell. We were also grateful for the presence of Mrs. Véronique Nyemb, representing Lycée Joss, another valued education partner of Striving For All. In addition, we were delighted to welcome Mrs. Josephine Soffack and Mr. Julien Kemloh Donmo as esteemed guests, whose support and encouragement added prestige and inspiration to this important milestone.
Our gratitude extends to Lycée Bilingue de New-Bell for hosting this memorable event, to our dedicated staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts, and to Canal 2 media for capturing and sharing the highlights with the wider community.
Our Gratitude
This milestone was made possible by the collective effort of many.
