As funding and need allow
When a child has witnessed the chaos of war, lost loved ones, or been forced to flee their home, words often fall short. But a crayon, a brush, a blank page these become their voice. Art allows them to speak what they cannot say, to release what weighs heavy on their hearts.
Here are the skills our students acquire.
Healing in color and creativity.
In the quiet town of Chernivtsi, children who have lost parents or homes find solace through group painting, music, and mindful drawing. Each stroke helps them make sense of a world turned upside down.
In Freiburg, Ukrainian refugee children gather in safe circles to express what they cannot yet verbalize. Art becomes a gentle bridge, helping them adapt, open up, and feel understood.
In Massachusetts, summer camps blend art, games, and creative dialogue to help refugee children from Ukraine reconnect with joy and friendship. Here, the trauma starts to fade, replaced by laughter and light.
