For many young people in Douala, access to digital education and professional training can shape the direction of an entire future. On April 18, 2026, Striving For All proudly celebrated that transformation during the 5th Thrive Center Training Closing Ceremony held at Joss High School in Douala, Cameroon.
The ceremony brought together learners, parents, educators, partners, institutional guests, and members of the educational community to celebrate more than certificates. It celebrated growth, confidence, resilience, innovation, and opportunity.
More than a ceremony, the event marked the culmination of months of dedication, learning, collaboration, and personal development for young people preparing to build brighter futures through education and digital skills training.
Throughout the training cycle, learners participated in a diverse range of educational, leadership, and digital skills programs designed to strengthen both professional and personal development.
Programs included Artificial Intelligence with Python, Data Analysis with Tableau & PostgreSQL, Web Development, Microsoft Office, English Language Training, Girls in Tech, and the Green Warriors environmental initiative.
This year’s session engaged 170 students, with:
- 61 learners receiving at least one certificate
- 74 certificates of excellence awarded in recognition of academic achievement and commitment
Outstanding students were also recognized with special prizes, including backpacks and school supply vouchers, celebrating their dedication, perseverance, and growth throughout the program.
The ceremony featured inspiring presentations of learner achievements and innovation projects, official certificate awards, testimonials from learners and families, and moments of celebration shared with educators, partners, and community supporters.
Throughout the event, learners proudly showcased the progress they made over months of hard work, collaboration, and personal development, highlighting the transformative impact of access to education and opportunity.
Building Skills for the Future
The Thrive Center Youth Development Program is designed to equip young people with practical, future-ready skills while also helping them build confidence, leadership, discipline, and a stronger sense of possibility.
Throughout the training cycle, learners demonstrated strong engagement, creativity, and measurable growth across technical, communication, leadership, and environmental awareness programs.
Beyond technical instruction, the program emphasized collaboration, communication, leadership, environmental responsibility, and real-world problem-solving to ensure learners developed skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
By offering these learning opportunities at little to no cost, Striving For All continues working to reduce financial barriers and expand access to quality education and digital skills training for young people in underserved communities.
One learner shared during the ceremony:
“Before joining the program, I was afraid of technology because I thought it was too difficult. Now I can build projects, work with data, and speak confidently about my future. I believe I can succeed.”
Parents also reflected on the transformation they observed throughout the training cycle.
“I have seen a big change in my child. She is more confident, disciplined, and motivated to continue learning. Programs like this give hope to families like ours.”
Encouragement from Leadership and Community
The event also featured encouraging remarks from Striving For All leadership and guests, who reflected on the growth, resilience, and potential demonstrated by learners throughout the program.
Our Founder and CEO, Mrs. Geneviève Ngambia, delivered an inspiring message encouraging students to continue believing in their potential and using education as a pathway toward leadership and impact.
Every skill learned here is a step toward a brighter future. We are proud to see these young people growing into confident innovators and changemakers who will positively transform their communities.
The Principal of Joss High School, Mr. Jean Ndebia also highlighted the importance of programs that prepare students for both academic and professional success.
What Striving For All is doing is preparing young people not only for school, but for the future. These students are developing skills, leadership, and the mindset needed to contribute meaningfully to society.
Representatives from partner schools, institutional guests, educators, families, and community supporters attended the ceremony, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in creating opportunities for youth empowerment and education.
The strong participation and active engagement throughout the event created an atmosphere of celebration, encouragement, and shared purpose.
Investing in the Next Generation
The Thrive Center Youth Development Program is more than a training initiative. It is an investment in the future of young people, communities, and the next generation of leaders and innovators.
By equipping learners with technical, professional, leadership, and environmental awareness skills, Striving For All is helping prepare young people to succeed in an increasingly digital world and contribute meaningfully to society.
This achievement would not have been possible without the commitment of educators, volunteers, mentors, partner schools, donors, families, and supporters who continue to invest in the success and potential of young people.
Together, we are building pathways for education, empowerment, innovation, and long-term community impact.
Continue the Impact
Thanks to the support of donors, educators, volunteers, families, and partners, more young people are gaining access to opportunities that help them learn, innovate, and build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
Together, we are investing in the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
