Diverse group of young people and adults assembled at a community outreach program.
Striving For All recently hosted a Student Development Session at its Thrive Center in Douala, Cameroon, bringing together students for a focused conversation on how education, discipline, and intentional choices shape future opportunities. The session is part of Striving For All’s career-focused learning program, which connects classroom learning with real-world pathways and long-term success.

The session featured Dr. Tiengoue Pulchérie, a respected pharmacist and owner of Pharmacie de l’Alliance in Douala. Introduced by Mr. Elouti, Regional Education Manager, Dr. Tiengoue shared her personal and professional journey, emphasizing the importance of focus, perseverance, and commitment to education.
Reflecting on her experience, Dr. Tiengoue encouraged students to remain disciplined and confident in their abilities:

“Even though my parents didn’t have much, I was able to succeed because I stayed focused at school and worked hard. Pay attention, do your best every day, and believe in yourself. Discipline and focus are the keys to achieving your dreams.”

Her message encouraged students to view education not merely as an obligation, but as a strategic foundation for achieving their goals. The session continued with an interactive discussion and question-and-answer segment, allowing students to explore career paths, understand real-world professional journeys, and reflect on the habits and choices that support long-term success.

The session also created space for student reflection and confidence-building. One student shared:

“Before this session, I was afraid I wouldn’t be good enough to achieve my dreams. Now I understand that staying focused at school and working hard is the path to success.”

The day concluded with a group photo, capturing the engagement, curiosity, and renewed motivation among the students. Striving For All extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Tiengoue Pulchérie for taking the time to engage with students and share her experience, as well as to Mr. Elouti for his continued leadership and support.

Through initiatives like this Student Development Session, Striving For All continues to equip young people in Douala with the knowledge, confidence, and practical guidance they need to navigate their education and prepare for future careers.
